Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: July 2026
Welcome to Discovery Slayers. These Terms and Conditions apply to inquiries, tour bookings, safari arrangements, and other travel services provided by Discovery Slayers. By confirming a booking or making a payment for services arranged by us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
Please read these terms carefully before confirming your trip.
1. About Discovery Slayers
Discovery Slayers is a tour and travel company specializing in safari experiences, wildlife adventures, gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, mountain expeditions, cultural experiences, and other travel services across East Africa.
In these Terms and Conditions, “Discovery Slayers,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Discovery Slayers. “Traveler,” “guest,” “client,” “you,” and “your” refer to the person making the booking and, where applicable, the other travelers included in the same booking.
2. Tour Inquiries
Submitting an inquiry through our website, email, telephone, WhatsApp, or another communication channel does not create a confirmed booking.
When you contact us, we may request information about your preferred destinations, travel dates, number of travelers, accommodation preferences, activities, trip duration, and any special requirements. This information helps us recommend or prepare a suitable travel itinerary.
All tours and travel arrangements remain subject to availability until the booking has been formally confirmed.
3. Quotations and Tour Costs
Discovery Slayers does not currently display fixed tour prices on the website. The cost of a trip is determined according to the selected itinerary, travel dates, number of travelers, accommodation preferences, activities, permits, transportation, and other services included in the journey.
After receiving your inquiry and travel requirements, we will provide a quotation based on the proposed arrangements. The quotation will outline the cost of the trip and the services included.
A quotation does not guarantee availability and may change before a booking is confirmed. Changes may occur because of accommodation availability, permit fees, transportation costs, government charges, exchange rate movements, changes made to the itinerary, or other costs charged by third party service providers.
The final tour cost and the services included will be communicated to you before you confirm your booking.
4. What Is Included in Your Booking
The services included in your trip will be stated in your confirmed itinerary or quotation. Depending on the tour, these may include accommodation, transportation, meals, park entrance fees, permits, guided activities, airport transfers, and other travel arrangements.
Any service that is not specifically stated as included should not be assumed to form part of the booking.
Personal expenses, international flights, visas, travel insurance, optional activities, tips, personal purchases, and other services may not be included unless specifically stated in your confirmed arrangements.
Travelers should review the itinerary and quotation carefully before confirming a booking.
5. Booking Confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed only after Discovery Slayers has confirmed the availability of the required travel arrangements and the traveler has completed the payment requirements communicated during the booking process.
The person making a booking on behalf of other travelers is responsible for ensuring that all members of the group are aware of and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Once your booking has been confirmed, you should carefully review the itinerary and booking information provided. Any errors or requested changes should be communicated to us as soon as possible.
6. Payments
Payment requirements will be communicated directly to the traveler during the booking process. These may depend on the nature of the itinerary and the requirements of accommodation providers, wildlife authorities, transport providers, and other service providers involved in the trip.
A booking may not be confirmed until the required payment has been received.
Any remaining payment must be made according to the payment schedule communicated during the booking process. Failure to make payment by an agreed deadline may affect reservations or result in the cancellation of arrangements that have been secured on the traveler’s behalf.
Any bank charges, transfer fees, currency conversion charges, or other transaction costs associated with making payment may be the responsibility of the traveler unless otherwise agreed.
7. Changes Requested by the Traveler
If you wish to change your travel dates, itinerary, accommodation, number of travelers, activities, or other confirmed arrangements, you should contact Discovery Slayers as soon as possible.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requested changes, but changes are subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed.
A change may affect the total cost of the trip. Additional costs resulting from changes requested by the traveler will be communicated before the revised arrangements are confirmed.
Some services, including permits, tickets, accommodation reservations, and other third party bookings, may have restrictions on changes after they have been confirmed.
8. Cancellation by the Traveler
If you need to cancel a confirmed trip, you should notify Discovery Slayers in writing as soon as possible.
The amount that may be refundable will depend on the circumstances of the booking, the date of cancellation, payments already made to third party service providers, and the cancellation conditions applicable to the services included in the trip.
Certain payments may be nonrefundable once they have been used to secure permits, accommodation, transportation, flights, activities, or other services on behalf of the traveler.
Any applicable cancellation terms will be communicated as part of the booking process where necessary.
We strongly recommend that all travelers obtain comprehensive travel insurance that provides appropriate protection in the event of trip cancellation.
9. Changes to an Itinerary
Discovery Slayers makes every reasonable effort to operate trips according to the confirmed itinerary. However, travel arrangements may occasionally need to be changed.
Changes may become necessary because of weather conditions, road conditions, wildlife movements, accommodation availability, park regulations, permit requirements, transportation disruptions, safety concerns, government restrictions, or other circumstances affecting the operation of the trip.
Where a change is necessary, we will make reasonable efforts to provide a suitable alternative while maintaining the overall nature of the travel experience.
The order of activities or destinations may also change where necessary for operational, safety, or practical reasons.
10. Cancellation or Significant Changes by Discovery Slayers
In rare circumstances, Discovery Slayers may need to cancel or significantly change a travel arrangement.
Where possible, we will inform affected travelers and discuss suitable alternatives. The options available will depend on the reason for the change, the services involved, and the cancellation or refund conditions of any third party service providers.
Discovery Slayers will make reasonable efforts to assist travelers, but we cannot guarantee refunds for costs that have already been paid to third parties and are nonrefundable.
11. Gorilla and Chimpanzee Permits
Gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, and certain other wildlife activities require permits issued by the relevant wildlife authorities.
Permit availability is limited and cannot be guaranteed until the permit has been secured. Travelers may be required to provide accurate personal information for the purchase or registration of permits.
Permit fees and conditions are determined by the relevant issuing authorities and may change without notice.
Once purchased, permits may be nonrefundable or subject to strict cancellation and amendment conditions. Discovery Slayers is not responsible for changes to permit prices, regulations, age requirements, trekking procedures, or other conditions introduced by the relevant authorities.
12. Passports, Visas and Travel Documents
Travelers are responsible for ensuring that they have valid passports, visas, permits, vaccination certificates, and any other documentation required for their journey.
Entry and travel requirements vary between countries and may change. Travelers should verify current requirements with the appropriate embassy, consulate, immigration authority, or other official source before traveling.
Discovery Slayers may provide general travel information where possible, but responsibility for obtaining and carrying the correct documents remains with the traveler.
Discovery Slayers will not be responsible for a traveler being unable to participate in a trip because of missing, invalid, or incorrect travel documentation.
13. Health and Medical Requirements
Travelers are responsible for ensuring that they are physically and medically able to participate in the activities included in their itinerary.
Some experiences, including gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, hiking, mountain climbing, and other adventure activities, may require a reasonable level of physical fitness.
Travelers should inform Discovery Slayers of any relevant medical condition, disability, allergy, dietary requirement, or other circumstance that may require special arrangements or affect participation in an activity.
Travelers are encouraged to seek appropriate medical advice regarding vaccinations, medications, health precautions, and fitness to travel before departure.
14. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for all travelers.
Travel insurance should be suitable for the destinations and activities included in your trip. Depending on your itinerary, appropriate coverage may include medical emergencies, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, trip interruption, lost or delayed baggage, personal belongings, and adventure activities.
Travelers are responsible for understanding the terms, exclusions, and coverage limits of their chosen insurance policy.
Discovery Slayers is not responsible for losses that could have been covered by appropriate travel insurance.
15. Wildlife Experiences
Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Animals live freely in their natural environments, and their location, movement, and behavior are influenced by natural conditions. Although our guides use their experience and local knowledge to provide the best possible wildlife viewing opportunities, no particular animal sighting can be guaranteed.
The absence of a specific wildlife sighting does not constitute a failure to provide the tour or activity.
Travelers must follow all instructions provided by guides, rangers, and wildlife authorities during wildlife encounters.
16. Adventure Activities
Some tours may include activities such as gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, hiking, mountain climbing, boat trips, nature walks, and other outdoor experiences.
Participation in these activities may involve inherent risks associated with wildlife, terrain, weather, physical exertion, remote locations, transportation, and other natural conditions.
Travelers are responsible for considering their own fitness, experience, and personal circumstances before participating in an activity.
All reasonable safety instructions provided by guides, rangers, activity providers, and local authorities must be followed.
17. Accommodation
Accommodation will be arranged according to the confirmed itinerary and the agreed travel category.
If a particular hotel, lodge, camp, or other accommodation becomes unavailable, Discovery Slayers may arrange a suitable alternative where possible.
Accommodation standards and classifications may vary between destinations and may not correspond directly with rating systems used in the traveler’s home country.
Special accommodation requests will be communicated to the relevant provider, but they cannot always be guaranteed.
18. Transportation and Travel Times
Transportation arrangements may include safari vehicles, private transfers, domestic flights, boats, or other forms of transport depending on the itinerary.
Travel times stated in an itinerary are estimates. Actual journey times may vary because of road conditions, traffic, weather, border procedures, stops, vehicle conditions, and other circumstances.
Travelers must follow reasonable safety instructions provided by drivers, guides, transport operators, and relevant authorities.
19. Traveler Responsibilities
Travelers are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully throughout their trip.
You must respect other travelers, guides, drivers, accommodation staff, local communities, wildlife, property, and the natural environment.
Travelers must follow reasonable instructions provided by Discovery Slayers representatives, guides, park authorities, accommodation providers, and activity operators, particularly where those instructions concern health, safety, wildlife protection, or local regulations.
A traveler whose behavior creates a serious risk to themselves, other people, property, wildlife, or the proper operation of the trip may be prevented from continuing an activity or travel arrangement where reasonably necessary.
20. Responsible Tourism
Discovery Slayers encourages responsible and respectful travel.
Travelers should respect local cultures and traditions, follow park and conservation regulations, avoid disturbing wildlife, dispose of waste responsibly, and follow guidance provided by local communities, guides, and authorities.
We encourage travel practices that contribute positively to the destinations and communities visited.
21. Personal Belongings
Travelers are responsible for taking reasonable care of their luggage, money, passports, travel documents, electronic devices, and other personal belongings.
Travelers are encouraged to keep valuable items secure and ensure that their travel insurance provides appropriate protection for personal possessions.
Discovery Slayers cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
22. Third Party Service Providers
Discovery Slayers works with independent service providers to arrange certain parts of a trip. These may include hotels, lodges, airlines, transport companies, activity providers, guides, park authorities, permit issuing authorities, and other travel suppliers.
These service providers may operate under their own terms, policies, safety procedures, cancellation conditions, and operational requirements.
Discovery Slayers will exercise reasonable care when selecting and coordinating travel services. However, we do not directly control the actions, decisions, or operations of independent third party service providers.
23. Events Beyond Our Reasonable Control
Discovery Slayers cannot be held responsible for delays, changes, cancellations, additional expenses, or failure to provide services where this results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
These circumstances may include severe weather, natural disasters, disease outbreaks, government actions, border closures, civil unrest, security incidents, strikes, transportation disruptions, changes in park regulations, or other unexpected events.
Where such circumstances occur, we will make reasonable efforts to assist travelers and adjust arrangements where practical.
Additional expenses resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control may be the responsibility of the traveler, depending on the situation and any available travel insurance coverage.
24. Limitation of Liability
Discovery Slayers will exercise reasonable care in arranging and providing travel services.
Travel, particularly travel involving wildlife, remote destinations, trekking, mountain activities, road journeys, and outdoor experiences, may involve risks that cannot be completely eliminated.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Discovery Slayers will not be responsible for loss, damage, delay, injury, or additional expenses resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, a traveler’s own actions, failure to follow reasonable safety instructions, or the actions of independent third party service providers.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
25. Complaints and Concerns
If you experience a problem during your trip, please inform your guide or a Discovery Slayers representative as soon as possible.
Reporting an issue promptly gives us an opportunity to investigate the matter and, where possible, find a solution while the trip is still in progress.
If the matter is not resolved during your journey, you may contact Discovery Slayers after the trip and provide details of your concern.
26. Website Information
Discovery Slayers makes reasonable efforts to ensure that the information provided on the website is accurate and useful.
However, destinations, itineraries, accommodation, activities, permit requirements, park regulations, travel conditions, and other information may change.
Tour descriptions and sample itineraries are intended to provide an overview of the experience. The final arrangements for a confirmed trip will be based on the itinerary and booking details communicated directly to the traveler.
Photographs and other visual content used on the website are intended to represent destinations and travel experiences. They do not guarantee that a traveler will encounter the exact wildlife, scenery, accommodation, or conditions shown.
27. Personal Information and Privacy
Discovery Slayers may collect personal information necessary to respond to inquiries, prepare travel arrangements, process bookings, communicate with travelers, and coordinate services with relevant travel providers.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable legal requirements.
Travelers are responsible for ensuring that the information they provide is accurate.
28. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of the Republic of Uganda.
Where a dispute arises in connection with a booking or travel service, the traveler and Discovery Slayers should first make reasonable efforts to resolve the matter through direct communication.
