In the morning, your guide will pick you up from Kigali to start your 8 days Congo gorilla Safari and Nyiragongo trekking Tour. Then drive from Kigali to Goma Grande Barrier border building where you will pick your permits for the next day takes about 6 hours. After, you will drive with the Virunga security team and head to Bukima ranger post where the hotel for the night is located. Accommodation: Bukima Tented Camp

Wake up in the early morning for your delicious breakfast and after grab your packed lunch boxes. Drive to Bukima ranger post where you will have a pre-trek briefing experience. After, you will enter the forest in search of the endangered mountain gorillas and after the allocation, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour in their presence. On the third day of the 8, wake up for your early morning breakfast as you prepare for the second meeting with the mountain gorillas in Virunga national park. You will move with your packed lunch and connect to Bukima ranger post for a pre trek brief and registration. After, set off into the forest and search for the mountain gorillas. When you find them, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour in their presence as you enjoy their daily lifestyles like feeding, playing and others. After the experience, you will drive back to your hotel and have a luxurious evening at the lodge or even opt for a community visit and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Early morning of the fourth day, you will have your breakfast and drive to the park so as to have a last chance with the mountain gorilla family. You will attend a pre trekking brief and then follow the park ranger into the forest. After the trek, you will spend some good time at the lodge as you wait for dinner. Accommodation: Mikeno lodge

Wake up in the morning, have breakfast and go for a visit at Senkwekwe gorilla orphanage which is located in the compound of Mikeno lodge. You will spend your good time at the orphanage and later have a walk to the park headquarters. After, you will move back to the lodge for dinner and another night.

Wake up in the early morning hours and move to the park headquarters where you will meet the other trekkers. Chimpanzee trekking takes place in Mahura forest of Virunga national park and it involves hiking through it in search of the playful apes. You will enjoy the daily lifestyle of chimpanzees since you will be allowed to spend 1 hour in their presence. After, you will return to the lodge and have a leisure evening as you wait for dinner and another night at Mikeno lodge.

In the morning after your breakfast, the driver will drive you to Kibati Ranger post where the Nyiragongo hike starts from. The hike takes about 6 hours with 2 stopovers, reaching the summit in the evening hours. While at the top, enjoy a sunset views as you watch the lights from Goma light up the darkness from far. The night and dinner will be at Nyiragongo summit.

4 Wake up to catch the morning sunrise and the last moments at the top of the volcano. You will have a simple breakfast before you start your descent back to the volcanoes trailhead.
